Nothing beats a good Indian curry, especially as the months get cooler. I don’t tend to go out for it much anymore, as i find it quite hard to resist the naan and rice while trying to eat Low Carb.

I tend to make it at home now and I use the jar sauces, mostly because I have no idea about traditional Indian cooking and its so much quicker. I also team it with a cauliflower rice, instead of basmati rice.

Some people argue that Butter Chicken isn’t a “traditional” Indian dish, however it is loved by many.  So I went hunting for the best Low Carb Butter Chicken Sauces

Comments:

  • Even though the carbs a higher, good ingredient list.
  • I am guessing the carbs are higher due to the skim milk powder, as sugar features quite low.

 

Coles Butter Chicken Simmer sauce

Water, Tomato paste, cream, sugar, Canola oil, Thickeners, ginger, onion powder, natural flavours, garlic, spices, salt, egg yolk powder, acidity regulators, natural colour

  • Supermarket brand
  • LowER carb option.

 

Monika Brand – Butter Chicken Paste

Ingredients: 
Water, Chilli powder, Salt, Coriander powder, lentil powder, cotton seed oil, garlic paste, ginger paste, turmeric powder, garam masala cumin, powder and acetic acid.

carbs per 100g: 14g

Comments:

  • Although the highest, it has the best ingredients list of the bunch and you only need a tablespoon for the recipe.
  • No Sugar added! 🙂
  • They give clear directions on how to use on the packet, which for people like me who are not experienced in making curries, its great.
  • So while not the lowest, its still great which is why i added it to the list.
