6 Tips to make Low Carb Cocktails
Living Low Carb does not mean that we have to give up the fun stuff, especially during party season. Here are 6 tips to help create a Low Carb Cocktail.
❣️ Pure Spirits have 0 carbs e.g Whisky, Gin, Brandy, Vodka, Tequila – just add/ or order your favourite low/ no sugar mixer or soda
❣️ Fruit Juice in Cocktails – Lemon and Lime Juice a relatively low, you could try Low Sugar/ Diet Cranberry Juice. Most juices will be high in sugar. If you are at home you can use chilled fruit tea or water infusers to flavour up sparkling water.
❣️Cocktails that need sugar syrups – replace with sweeteners of choice. Stevia also comes in liquid drops – If you are making them at home, this could be an option. Sweet Leaf can be found in Australia
❣️ Using Liqueurs? – replace half with flavoured extracts.
❣️ Try flavoured Spirits – they add a slight flavour without the additional carbs – Absolut have a Raspberry Vodka that goes great with Vodka. 1800 Coconut Tequila is also yummy too. (The water infusers will work here to add flavour to your plain vodkas)
❣️Heading out for drinks? if you are heading out and feel like a cocktail – most places will now make them without the sugar syrup for you – just ask. 😀
